The Hawaii Gifted Association has set up a private Google Groups Usenet.  Since this is not open to the public, you will need to email Gina Karas at  Hauulakaras@msn.com asking to be added to the Usenet site.  You will receive an email reply with instructions on how to access the Usenet.  There, you will be able to post new topics and reply to existing posts from other users.  The site gives you the opportunity to personalize your settings, and you can choose to receive emails with each new post, one summary daily, or no emails at all--so as not to overwhelm you.  This is a great opportunity for parents to network with others to set up social groups, express concerns, promote events and enrichment activities, get information about advocacy efforts and more.

Log on and access this forum directly at www.real-school.com.  This is a wonderful forum set up by Real School, a non-profit corporation formed to promote educational discussion and opportunity for the residents of the Big Island of Hawaii.  More information is available on the site, and it will have information pertinent to residents of all islands.
